Here's a whodunnit for you -
There's a mobile lab at my newly assigned school that should contain 4 laptops and 4 chargers. Recently, I had to retrieve one for repair and saw all the machines in the lab. When I went to return the repaired laptop about a week later, 1 laptop was gone, but 4 chargers remained. I tried to give the "borrower" the benefit of the doubt and waited until the following day to see if it had been returned before reporting it missing. The Asst Principal, Head Custodian and myself saw what remained Thursday or Friday of last week.
Today, the Asst Principal and I were talking about it and he decided to go do some checking again. We unlocked the trailer (classroom) and were joking about how funny it would be if it were back. He grabbed the top off the lab and SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, 2 laptops and 3 chargers! Holy crap! He checked the windows to make sure they were locked and both trailers doors can only be opened with a key to the trailer or a master key (otherwise they are always locked). The only way this stuff is disappearing is by way of someone with one of those keys. The laptops are about $900 each. Nothing has disappeared before, but now that the old technician left (not by choice), well, you get the picture.
I hope they get the cops involved. I've watched enough CSI shows to collect evidence and process the "crime scene". (hahahahahaha!)

GET em!!! They need to learn crime does not pay...eventually he'll come back for a charger probably set up hidden cam!! Yes!! Nail Him!!!!

Maybe - but people have kids who do stupid things, too. Maybe some of them were "borrowed" for personal use and will be returned.
